The Iveco Motors production in recent years have seen the development of the new Sofim HPI, NEF, Cursor and Vector engine families, available in aspirated and turbo versions with 3, 4 and 6 cylinders in line and V6, V8, V12 and V16 units. The range includes engines with power outputs from 50 to 2400 bhp.
Excellent, reliable engines with low maintenance costs, designed to achieve the best possible performance in terms of respect for the environment. These are the main characteristics of power units designed for automotive applications. Innovative architecture is combined with multivalve systems, variable geometry turbos, high pressure injection systems with electronic control.
Turin - NEF
The ultra-modern plant built recently in Turin (Italy) where all the engines in the NEF family are manufactured, covers an area of about 65,000 sq m, and has an annual capacity of about 220,000 engines.
The interior of the plant is divided into two distinct areas: the first dedicated to the machining of engine crankcases and cylinder heads, the second to assembly activities, engine testing and painting.
The plant reflects the effort that went into creating a workplace tailor-made for the person who works there, with ergonomic work stations, automated materials handling operations, low noise, maximum luminosity and the use of non-vibrating assembly equipment.
The plant has received ISO 9001 - Vision 2000 (management of quality by processes) and ISO 14000 (environmental management) certification.
Turin - VECTOR
This plant was built specially to manufacture the V-shaped engines of the VECTOR family. It occupies a covered area of over 6,000 sq m in the SPA complex in Turin, and has an annual capacity of about 2,300 engines.
Specific, targeted investment was directed at achieving top quality output, adopting extremely advanced manufacturing methods.
We should mention the specific engine testing area, which can also test special versions (power pack).
Turin - 8000
This is one of the oldest Iveco Motors plants in Turin (Italy), which has been gradually updated over the years, to guarantee constantly high quality standards. It covers over 110,000 sq m and can turn out over 110,000 engines a year.
Almost 1,000 employees work in this complex.
Foggia - Sofim
- Foggia, located in Southern Italy this is the largest Iveco Motors plant and occupies a total area of approximately 540,000 sq m (of which almost 130,000 sq m are covered).
The plant is dedicated entirely to the production of light Iveco Motors diesel engines for the 8100 and HPI families, turning out over 250,000 units a year.
It gives work to over 2,000 people and has reached a total production of 4 million engines to date.
The plant has received ISO 9001 - Vision 2000 (management of quality by processes) and ISO 14000 (environmental management) certification.
In 2003 it received the "Award for TPM Excellence - First Category" from JPM (Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance).
Technologies and experts from this plant were sent to build the plants in:
- Nanking, in the People's Republic of China (output of 50,000 engines/year)
- Sete Lagoas, in Brazil (output of 40,000 engines/year).
Bourbon Lancy - Cursor
The plant is located in central France and produces engines from the CURSOR family.
It is an extremely modern plant, structured according to the criteria of the Integrated Plant.
It covers an area of almost 100,000 sq m and employs over 1,100 people.
It has a manufacturing capacity of over 40,000 engines a year.
The plant has received ISO 9001 - Vision 2000 (management of quality by processes) and ISO 14000 (environmental management) certification.
Pregnana Milanese
The plant is located near Milan (Italy), and covers an area of about 23,000 sq m, employing approximately 250 people.
This is the Iveco Motors conversion plant, where the marine units, generator sets and power pack versions for industrial engines are produced.
Annual output is about 40,000 units.
The plant has received ISO 9001 - Vision 2000 certification |
