| LIGHT WINTER TYRES MICHELIN |
MICHELIN ALPIN
|
 |
A first generation tyre, especially intended for snow with improved performance on wet roads. This tyre will provide perfect maneuverability on snow and ice, extraordinary performance on roads covered by deep water. Wear resistance was also measured, and in this category the Michelin Alpin got the highest mark, outstripping all its competitors.
Delivering exceptional performance in terms of both safety and durability, the Alpin winter tire is the perfect symbol of Michelin's strategy of providing safe, sustainable mobility solutions to all its tire users.

MICHELIN ALPIN A2 |
 |
Alpin A2 – is a tyre of second generation, with more than 1400 micro-tread blocks and it has excellent traction whatever the weather conditions are. Compared to the Alpine of the first generation, all the performances are far better: On wet roads the breaking distance has been decreased by 7% due to the micro-deforming tread compound which can give a micro shock absorbing effect. Aquaplaning has been improved as well, and cornering has been improved by 11% due to the specifically directed tread pattern. On ice, the breaking distance has been decreased by more than 11%.

MICHELIN ALPIN A3 |
 |
Alpin A3 winter tyres, which offer optimised rolling resistance. Thanks to its innovative "helio-compound" tread with added sunflower oil, the Michelin Alpin A3 performs exceptionally well in wet weather.
More adherence, thanks to:
- the autoblocking VTS and BDS sipes
- the bridges in the transversal grooves bring the rigidity
- a new rubber compound with micro deformations, who permits to cling to the bumps of the wet surface (Van der Walls forces)
On ice: the braking distance has been reduced by 2 m.
(internal Michelin test braking from 20km/h to 5km/h, ref : PA1)
On wet: roads the braking distance has been reduced by 2 m.
(internal Michelin test braking from 80km/h to 10km/h, ref : PA1

MICHELIN PILOT ALPIN |
 |
In winter, you are not able to choose the type of the surface, it is your tyre, who should adapt to the circumstances, in order to dominate winter in every second.
- An excellent braking and handling on the most critical surfaces (water, snow, ice):
- On ice: the braking distance has been reduced by 1 m.
(internal Michelin test braking from 20km/h to 5km/h, ref : PA1)
On wet: roads the braking distance has been reduced by 2 m.
(internal Michelin test braking from 80km/h to 10km/h, ref : PA1
- On snow: stabilised acceleration.
- An excellent handling on dry in high speed driving, both in curves as well as during overtaking.

MICHELIN PILOT ALPIN A2 |
 |
The Pilot Alpin A2 is Michelin's Performance Winter tire developed to meet the needs of driving enthusiasts by combining dry road performance, foul weather traction and cold-weather conditions.
The Pilot Alpin A2 molds a tread rubber compound that remains flexible at lower temperatures for greater grip, into a high-contact, speed rating-specific tread design (V-speed rated tires feature a directional, 5-rib independent block tread design while H-speed rated tires feature a 6-rib version).
